An accordionist, a violinist and a trumpeter play in small, half-empty venues. Once they were in a band that toured Europe, but success has gone and the other musicians quit. And now the trumpeter is also going to leave. The two others are left alone, without motivation nor money. Something can change when they meet a young fan, who wants to flee far away.

In 2012 "The Circus of Chance" was screened at the 65th Locarno Film Festival in the out-of-competition section Scuole senza frontiere. In 2013 it was broadcast by Coming Soon Television in the program Short Stories. In 2015, on the occasion of the Swiss Film Award, it was broadcast by RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera.
